The fourth edition of Bach in the City opens on 6 October in some of the city's most beautiful churches. A review of chamber music dedicated to the masterpieces of the composer Johann Sebastian Bach, it will open at the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine and will be followed by three more dates, on 13 October at the Church of San Luca, on 19 October at the Church of Saints Primo and Feliciano, and the final concert on 27 October at the Church of San Francesco d'Assisi.
This year's review has instrumental virtuosity as its common denominator. Alongside the performance of Suite no. 3 for solo cello played by Maestro Enrico Dindo, there will be the opportunity to hear the violin concertos, pieces for solo flute and the Brandenburg Concertos no. 4 and no. 5. The guests of the review will be M° Marco Zoni, First Flute of the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala and of the homonymous Filarmonica, and M° Pier Filippo Barbano, First Flute of the Orchestra dell'Arena di Verona. The Baroque Consort of I Solisti di Pavia will provide musical support at all the concerts.
The initiative is organised by the Fondazione I Solisti di Pavia with the support of the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lombardia and the patronage of the Municipality of Pavia.
Admission, starting at 8.45 p.m., is free while places are available.
