INTRODUCION

"I believe that the biggest aspiration for musicians is to be together, play together and communicate their love for music through music itself. And it is with this spirit that the ensemble I Solisti di Pavia was born, a versatile group, flexible in its formation and in its repertoire.
Great professionals as well as many good friends have responded enthusiastically and others have been selected through challenging auditions in order to form a group based on energy and experience.
In the course of a single programme the ensemble may vary from a smaller group to a chamber orchestra formation thus expanding our repertoire meanwhile giving our audiences a larger view of the wide spectrum of chamber music.
We will be presenting a variety of authors from different periods: from Vivaldi to Bartok, from Mozart to Shostakovich, from Strauss to Schubert, alternating moments of well known music and nostalgia with analytical performances of less familiar works.
All of this will take place on the beautiful stage of the Teatro Fraschini in Pavia, the ideal setting for a total immersion in the vast musical ocean.
Today we live in a sensation of dismay, witnessing a loss of genuine and sincere emotions and I believe we can find some help by rediscovering the overall beauty and importance of arts and culture.
I am certain that I Solisti di Pavia will give brilliant performances and the wish to share these moments with our audiences guides me to one conviction:
Music makes us grow, together."

Founder and artistic director of 'I Solisti di Pavia'

Dear Enrico,
I would like to thank you once again for the beautiful concert given by the Solisti di Pavia in Villadossola.
As you know, it has been over ten years now since I've started working alongside my career as a composer, as music critic with the newspaper La Repubblica and RadioTre : since then I have had the chance to listen to a good number of ensembles.
In particular, the Solisti di Pavia is an ensemble our country ought to be proud of. It is of great potential combining individual talents with an uncommon musical knowledge.
Listening to some of the well known pieces in your repertoire gave me so much pleasure and joy, something which many orchestras around the world cannot offer.
I read that your project is sponsored by a major bank which has given you a three year support: well, let me add that you are very fortunate and they are to be thanked for an excellent image investment and moreover, a serious contribution to the cultural development of our country.

I hope to hear you again soon!

Nicola Campogrande

Music, more than any other artistic expression can cover an important role in spreading a peaceful culture: the extraordinary ability of your musicians to transmit such intense emotions and create harmony and involvement gives music a second name: PEACE!
